The lovely bride carried a garden inspired combination of white blooms. Each bridesmaid carried a simple but striking trio of full-sized white callas lilies.

The lush texture in this all white bouquet was accomplished by utalizing small bloom flowers of different shapes. The volume of the bouquet is primarily hydrangea and stock, with dendrobium orchids and mini calla lilies added as focal flowers. For greens combination of dark ruscus greens and lighter foxtail ferns were used to finish the bouquet.

To compliment the garden setting an arrangement of assorted flowers was set on either side of the stone stairway. Bright whites and greens were paired with assorted other colors to tied the bridal bouquet flowers into the colorful garden setting.

For this summer wedding we paired creamy ivory roses with these dramatic calla lilies for a romantic look. Loops of variegated lily grass and italian pittosporum were used as greenery accent to complete the bouquet.

The bride carried a round hand-tied bouquet and looked stunning.

The handsom groom wore an ivory rose boutonniere to match the ivory roses of the bridal bouquet.

And they lived happily ever after!

Her bridesmaids wore a vibrant shade of hot pink named Watermelon from David’s Bridal.
One of our goals was to match the hue of their dress with the roses, but create bouquets for them that would stand out against the pink dress. We did that by using orange lilies and plum dianthus in addition to the hot pink roses.

We used sent some of the same roses to Lori of Cakes by Lori and she used them to adorn the beautiful cake.

With the popularity of Malibu blue, electric blue, Tiffany blue and similar bright blue colors for weddings more and more brides are looking to incorporate this color in to their wedding flowers. The  blue dendrobium orchid used in this wedding is one of the only options for a vibrant blue flower  with a teal undertone.

The wedding topper from the same wedding shows another option for incorporating a color not readily available in fresh flowers. We are able to use accent products like pins, ribbon, wire, etc. to bring the wedding color into the floral arrangements.

This weekend we had 2 brides that had inspiration photos very similar to the bouquets they wanted. I thought I would give you the inside scoop on taking inspiration and personalizing the options to make it “the bouquet”. One of my favorite questions to ask is “What  should I change to make this bouquet your bouquet?”, sometimes the bride has an idea, usually I have a recommendation in mind based on things I’ve learned about the bride through our consultation.

The Inspiration {via bride-source unknown}

Miss M and I had been corresponding via email and telephone as she lives outside the Central Illinois area. She wanted a bright fall color palate and early on had selected this bouquet of purple stock and orange roses as her inspiration bouquet. To make it her own she wanted to infuse silver, an important accent color in her wedding palate. We used metallic silver hypericum berries as well as a sheer silver stem wrap to bring a tasteful dash of silver to her bouquet.

Miss L is a sweet and easy going bride. She too had an inspiration picture she was really digging, but the colors weren’t exactly aligned with her claret red (dark red) bridesmaids dresses. We kept all of the same flowers but chose a burginy cymbidium orchid rather than the mauve.  We also incorporated gorgeous dark red Freedom roses, to adjust the color palate and bring and additional rich texture.

Wedded Whites
White bridal bouquets are elegant and classic. Some brides choose a truly traditional look with an all white bridal cascade, like the one above. Other brides use white as a backdrop of tradition while infusing their own personal style in the form of color, accent, or shape. Red Hot
Romantic red is another popular choice for wedding flowers. Classic red roses are a favorite, but each bride has the opportunity to add a personal touch: dark and lush greens for a rich texture, all roses in a smooth and spherical shape for a manicured and polished look, paired with warm ivory roses for a lighter feel. And then of course there are many other red flowers like Gerbera daisies, alstroemeria, orchids, berries and mini callas to convey match many other themes.

Pretty in Pink
From the most vibrants of hot pinks (and, and) to the softest blush, feminine pink speaks to brides of all types.

Calm, Cool, and Collected
A cool color palate will feature flowers in: lovely lavender, radiant royal, pleasant plum, beautiful baby blue, passionate purple, lively lime. A bouquet could be centered on just one color, a mixture of several different hues, or a range of shades of the same color.

Warm Wishes and Colors
Reds, yellows, pinks, oranges, and every shade in between. Colors traditionally used in summer and fall are now making appearances year round. Like cool colors, you can choose shades of a single color, monochromatic, or multi-chromatic.

Perfectly Prismatic
Some brides want color: not just cool or warm but both together! These colorful bouquets can be a way to infuse color into another wise neutral palate, or to help bridge the gap between colors used other places in the wedding.

We brought bouquets for every season. A traditional tear drop cascade of white lilies, white roses, and white calla lilies accented with silver for a magical winter bouquet. A bright an vibrant constellated summer bouquet with yellow lilies and roses, orange mini gerbera daisies, fuchsia dianthus, purple stock, and hot pink ranunculus. A textured medium hand-tied bouquet in fall hues: lipstick roses, red spray roses, bupleurum, seeded euchalyptus, and hypericum berries.

For the bride who loves color but wants a more traditional feel, colorful bridesmaids bouquets and ceremony decorations paired with an elegant white bridal bouquet is the perfect combination.

More of her colorful choices: A centerpiece trio, flowers for the cake, and tall arrangements for the “candy bar”.

Some brides worry that an all white bouquet will blend in with their dress and thus be less noticeable. One way to help a white bouquet pop is to include interesting and eye catching neutrals to draw your eye and lead you to the white focal flowers.  In this bouquet green mini-hydrangea and green hypericum berries added a textured sublayer for the white roses to pop against.

And last but certainly not least a posh bride who wanted a twist on traditional. Dark plums accented warm ivory and champagne roses with a splash of fresh spring green hydrangea.

The plums were brought in with Moonvista dianthus, Schwartzwalder mini callas, and Picasso mini callas. For an additional texture in ivory we used hypericum berries.
